This seminar will feature a series of short demonstrations from students and faculty involved in scientific computation. Demos will focus on tools used during a typical day at the command line. The format will be ‘show-and-tell.’ Topics will include:

  • automated backups
  • passwordless secure shell (SSH)
  • shell scripting
  • task automation
  • visualization

The ideal audience has some experience with working at the command line (e.g., Linux, OS X, Cygwin) and is interested in learning more about what is possible! Remember to bring your laptop so you can follow along.
